Baking is over rated.

I've been baking for hours and I hate it. I never have everything I need and who has this much time? Toast this, refrigerate that, don't forget to sift and holy crap I cannot believe you packed that and folded this. Sheesh. It's too damn precise for my low leveled patience.

I've had to harness my chi a few times this morning/afternoon.

I'm trying out a few recipes to see if I can actually bake well enough to please the cookie monster in my house and possibly bake some gifts this year instead of buying everyone gifts. We shall see. I'm trying out an Espresso Crinkles and Pecan Snowballs recipe. I hate following recipes, it removes all the fun in cooking. I'm not certain that anyone needs cookies for a gift since they're not in fact low fat but it's thoughtful and organic which some how offsets the ugly.

We're having organic Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house today. Fresh, light and delightful. I scored an organic turkey for the cost of a natural one! (I cannot reveal my source because it was a semi-secret.) We're having rice pilaf, fresh green beans w/shallots and sage and roasted root vegetables. Yay! I'll post a picture of the meal so you can drool.

I've got to run to the oven to complete step 4000 in the cookie extravaganza.

You are going to hate your birthday present then. That's all I'm saying.
